Alpine Dreams

Every year without fail, during this lull between Christmas and New Year, I start fantasising about heading to the mountains and installing myself in a beautiful log cabin.  Think exposed wood, roaring fires, fur throws, hot chocolate, fair isle knits- the whole works.  This year, my day dreaming has been fuelled further by Ralph Lauren Home's 'Alpine Romance' range.  Just dreamy.

The Fulham Christmas Fair

Table Talk

Strange but true - apparently the Romans had a thing for tables.  According to the New York Times, 'the Romans held their tables in the highest estimations'.  Seneca, apparently, 'possessed 500 small ones.'  Who knew?  After decades of function outweighing emotion, we are now seeing somewhat of a table revival.  The latest trend in 'upcycling' has meant that we have decided to get creative with our furniture again, turning the old into new, the unwanted into coveted and the contents of next doors skip, into, well, the jury is still out on that one.

Wonder

It is not often that I suffer from FOMO but I have recently come across a place so magical, so peaceful, so full of extremely cool knitwear that I am mentally packing my bags as I type to go off in search of it.

Heartbreakingly, it doesn't actually exist unless you are Emeli Sande as it was dreamt up for her new video, Wonder.  Taking dreamy to another level with a stunning use of colour and great styling, I have been completely swept up in the 'wonder' of it all.  I badly want to join the gang of effortlessly cool people, jump into one of the little 'Swallow and Amazon' style boats and head towards the door of dreams.
